Creating Unique Floral Bouquets Workshop

A wonderful new addition! After adding our floral boutique to the DIG location, we have had a lot of DIYers ask how we put together our extraordinary bouquets. Learn from the pros for your next event on how to mix colors and textures and design one of a kind floral bouquets. We will also teach you how to incorporate succulent cuttings into your creations!! Every participant will get to make and bring home their own bouquet. $60 all materials included.

Our annual DIG into Spring Party will be held on the evening of Saturday, April 28th an open house from 5-9PM. Join us in welcoming the gardening season with live music, food and wine. Enjoy ongoing activities, local farm tastings, and demonstrations for the whole family as we greet spring’s budding blooms! We would love to see you.

Create a Stunning Succulent Orb or Wreath

Make your very own succulent wreath or our famous succulent orbs for your garden this fall! In this workshop you can choose to make a 6 inch orb or a 10 inch wreath to cover with many varieties of colorful, drought tolerant succulents. Our orbs have been featured in many garden magazines recently from Sunset to Better Homes and Gardens! Learn how to put one together and care for it successfully! $100 includes 2 hour workshop and all materials.
Growing Veggies in Containers

Just because you have a small yard or balcony, doesn’t mean you can’t grow some of your own food! Learn how to design and grow veggies in containers and make them look lovely! Perfect for gardeners who live in an apartment or are renting their home. We will teach you everything from how to plant and care for the veggies as well as which are the best varieties to grow! Demonstration only, vegetable starts and containers will be available for purchase. $20
Art in the Garden for Kids with Studio Sprout

Bring your kids (ages 2 and up) to Dig to create inspiring art in our lovely garden setting. Children’s art studio owner, Rebecca Picker of Studio Sprout joins us to teach your children a fun art project. Your kiddos will be making two beautiful gifts for Mom or Grandma for Mother’s Day! A floral sun-catcher and a painted terracota pot with a succulent. $35, includes all materials for both projects.
Fresh Florals with Mom

Invite your mom to celebrate Mother’s Day- Dig style with a mother-daughter or mother-son workshop arranging florals side-by-side. Under the guidance of our flower experts, each participant will choose from a wide range of fresh flora and unique vessels to create a one-of-a-kind centerpiece as unique as the designer behind it.
Reservations required. $60 per person. Cost includes all floral materials, supplies, vessels.

DIY Hypertufa Containers

Hypertufa (pronounced hyper-toofa) is a man-made stone made from various aggregates bonded together with cement. It’s perfect for making long lasting garden containers. It looks like rock, can be cast into almost any shape, is environmentally friendly, very lightweight and can withstand harsh weather conditions. Join us with our concrete artisan Katrina King from 5 Feet from the Moon Concrete and Metal Designs for this hands on workshop on how to make your very own hypertufa pots. They make great homemade gifts in one of a kind shapes, sizes and colors! You will make 2 medium pots to take home with you! $60 includes instruction and all materials.

Many gardeners fear chickens will peck away at their landscape, and chicken lovers often shy away from gardening for the same reason. But you can keep chickens and have a beautiful garden, too! Fresh eggs aren’t the only benefit – chickens can actually help your garden grow and thrive, even as your garden does the same for your chickens. This workshop covers everything a gardener needs to know, including chicken-keeping basics and step-by-step instructions for getting your chicken garden up and running. $20
Sunset Magazine’s Celebration Weekend

Dig Gardens will be designing and installing the demonstration garden for the second year in a row at Sunset Magazine’s Celebration Weekend at their headquarters in Menlo Park, CA. This year’s feature garden is The Ultimate Outdoor Living Room! We have been busy planning the newest garden trends to display in this years garden. We will also have a booth at the show selling our top selling items for those of you who live in the bat area and don’t make it down to Santa Cruz as often as you’d like! Cara and Will will be speaking on the Home Stage both Saturday and Sunday! We hope you can make it!

Vertical Succulent Pictures

The latest trend in modern gardening is going vertical. Join the owner and garden designer, Cara Meyers for a workshop where you will create your very own stunning outdoor vertical garden. These portable wall hangings are fun and easy to make! We will use the beautiful textures and colors of succulents in pre-fabricated wall hangings to create these “plant paintings”. A great way to add a touch of design and greenery to outdoor fences, walls and entryways. In this class you will choose from our selection of succulent cuttings to create a beautiful wall mounted design. Fast becoming our most popular class- so register now because space is limited!! If you cannot make it to a workshop and you have already paid, please let us know as soon as possible. You will not be refunded for workshops if you have not notified us within seven days of the scheduled workshop. If you do notify us in time, you will have a credit towards another upcoming workshop.
